In 2004, Evelyn embarked on an ambitious journey to transform Singapore’s home improvement landscape. Her entrepreneurial path began after her first professional role as a software engineer at DSTA, where she developed strong technical expertise and gained a deep understanding of the emerging digital landscape.
Driven by a vision to create a thriving community for homeowners, she founded Renotalk.com. The platform went beyond simply providing a space for people to exchange ideas about home renovation and interior design. It created a direct connection between homeowners and service providers, making it easier for people to navigate the renovation journey.
Renotalk.com quickly grew into Singapore’s leading home renovation portal, changing the way homeowners discovered, interacted with and engaged interior design and renovation firms. Her entrepreneurial journey continued as she went on to lead two companies across the media and IT sectors, applying her strategic thinking and digital expertise to build and grow businesses.
In 2018, Evelyn made a conscious decision to step away from the corporate and entrepreneurial world. She chose to devote her time to personal growth, wellbeing and family — beginning a new chapter centred on reflection, renewal and rediscovery.
This period of stepping back gave her the space to reflect on her journey, rejuvenate and explore new possibilities. In time, her entrepreneurial spirit and years of experience found a new expression through Gennexis Digital, a boutique digital agency established to help businesses navigate and grow in an increasingly digital world.
